German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Shtaynmarere awarded the US Secretary of State John Kerry for his country, with its Order of German Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany on Monday. In a statement on its official website.

"John Kerry represents the best in America. He was generous, friendly, wise and aroj minded political figure, "Steinmeier said in his speech.

Steinmeier said that during Kerry's leadership Voshingtoni closer cooperation between Berlin and foreign policy issues.

The Minister of the newly-elected US president, Donald Trump said.

"We want to sit down for a chat, this is very important, very important."

Note that Steinmeier spoke badly about Trump nakhtrakan during the US election campaign.

Kerry arrived in Berlin for a farewell visit.
