Question: How would you comment the statements of the President of Azerbaijan on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in his interview to RIA Novosti?

Answer: The remarks of the leader of Azerbaijan should be viewed as another failed attempt to turn the reality upside-down and to distort the negotiation process.

Aliyev himself cited the statements of the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, which stipulate that the status of Nagorno-Karabakh will be determined through the legally binding expression of will of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. 

It would be better if the leadership of Azerbaijan ceases to delude itself and mislead its own public. A week ago the leader of Azerbaijan already publicly confessed the real essence of negotiations, stating that Baku is being urged to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.
